Episode 1 - College football preview, RSL, Jazz off-season

We got all of our notes together last night and recorded the Inagural Podcast of the Utah Sports Cast – and I’m really trying to be subjective about it, but I just have to say: its garbage! Really, the audio quality is poor (for most of the podcast I am really loud and Zach sounds like he’s in the bathroom), the actual content is questionable, and it’s painfully obvious that we have never done anything like this before.

For all of that, it was awesome! It is both a lot of fun to do and (in my semi-humble opinion) half-way entertaining to listen to. If you are looking for up-to-date insider information and cutting edge analysis, then… you may want to look somewhere else. If you want to listen to a couple of sports fans just talking about something we love, then welcome!

Incidentally, we forgot to mention our excellent sponsor: ShieldZone Corp. Our podcast was recorded at the ShieldZone World Headquarters and we appreciate their friendship and technical assistance!

Our first show had the following highlights:

  • Previewing the University of Utah football team and discussing the season opener in the Rose Bowl against UCLA.
  • Previewing the Brigham Young University football team and discussing their opener at Arizona.
  • We had a conversation about what CSTV and the mtn. network will mean to local sports fans
  • We talked about Real Salt Lake’s season so far, including the recent meteoric win streak and the subsequent embarrassing loss, and the visit of Real Madrid
  • We previewed the upcoming season for the Utah Jazz, and threatened repeatedly to do a more in-depth preview in a future podcast
  • There is also a short closing section with a few quick headlines
